I.R.I.S. is one of the few organizations in world that specializes in using Information Technology to improve Natural Resources Conservation, Management, and Protection. Generally speaking, Natural Resources in the field are not worth a lot. Consequently, conservation tends to be a non-profit or long-term investment activity.
